Hotel Review: Acta Madfor (Madrid)
Acta Madfor: Hotel Review
Cleanliness 10/10
Arriving to clean accommodations is one of the best ways to begin a trip. It affirms that you made the correct choice and helps you settle faster. Hotel Acta Madfor in Madrid was clean from top to bottom. There were clean rooms, noticeably clean common areas, and the restaurant also garnered my stamp of approval.
Hospitality 8.5/10
I was tired upon arriving to Madrid as it was the last stop on a three country tour. Fortunately, the first employee I encountered was pleasant and my arrival process was a breeze. The restaurant employee on my first night was also beyond helpful and accommodating. Other employees I encountered were nice enough, but seemed in a rush to help me. While giving directions or answering other questions, they were concise and bordered on curt. For example, I had a TERRIBLE stomach ache upon departure. In fact, I was sweating profusely, having hot and cold flashes, and doubled over in pain. I thought I would faint at any moment. The hotel receptionist didn't ask about my well being and instead kept smiling as he processed my payment. I appreciate the service with a smile, but ask me if I need some water or something at least! 😊 To be fair, he did give me an aspirin after I asked.
Neighborhood 9.5/10
The hotel is directly across the street from a Metro de Madrid station and the Centro Comercial Principe Pio Mall. There is also a supermarket next door and bars and restaurants are aplenty on the block. Walking to the major tourists attractions is an easy feat. However, if walking isn't your thing there are plenty of public transport options.
Room 9.5/10
The actual room was well appointed with modern amenities. Everything from the light fixtures to the wardrobe fit the modernist decor. The bathroom was beautifully appointed and the shower temperature and pressure were both wonderful! The bed was über comfortable and I awoke refreshed everyday! Kudos to this room!
Comfort 9/10
The entire hotel was comfortable and welcoming. The hallways were dimly, but nicely lit. It was like mood lighting. The lounge area was AH-MAZING! There were many places to work and/or chill. It was spacious and plenty of natural light penetrated the area. In fact, I took a nap there while waiting to go to the airport. It was a wonderful nap and undoubtedly, my stomach ache passed thanks to the comfortable rest I was able to get. There is also a restaurant and a separate bar that serves light snacks in addition to beverages. More, the hotel offers storage lockers for your belongings if you need to navigate the city without them (before/after check-in/out). Equally as impressive, late check-out was a no-hassle thing here; the process is as easy as requesting it and paying a fee. The outside noise level was a little loud and although noticeable, it didn't bother me. Plus, it is a city center; I expect there to be noise.
Value 10/10
Great, great, great value for the money! Plus, FREE WiFi is an added bonus here! The WiFi was fast and connectivity was quick and strong.
